Van's Garage was started in the 1920's by my grandfather Will and taken over in 1962 by my father, Glen.
My grandfather was very quiet and stoic. My memories of him were always of him tucked back in the machining section of the shop, working the metal lathe or honing machine. I am told he was also a very accomplished woodworker.

My father, Glen, was the heart and soul of the shop. He could, and would, fix anything. I remember going to farmers houses to fix a tractor or a truck that would not run. He was a fixture in town as a volunteer firefighter, entrepreneur and mayor.
His greatest passion was fishing. More on that later. Glen was diagnosed with widespread cancer in early 1991 and died Jull, 11 1991. He was 57. The shop sat vacant after Glen's death in July of 1991.
My goal is to bring the building into the 21st century, modern electrical and water, while retaining the historic appeal. I am hoping to have a very nice place to hang out and chat with locals and tinker.
List of fixtures and stuff for the renovation.
